Entry Check-in: Monday & Tuesday, August 19 & 20 during office hours 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Location: Swain County Cooperative Extension Center, 60 Almond School Road (any entry received after these dates will not be judged) Entry Pick-up: Monday, August 26, 2024 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Class 6 – Baked Goods In addition to entry, wrap a cookie, piece of cake, a biscuit, etc. separately for the judges to sample.

Class 7 – Preserved Foods* Must be standard half-pint, pint or quart jar. Label bottom with name, age and address. Canned goods must have a label on the jar that states the processing method (pressure canner/boiling water bath canner) and the processing time.

Mountain State Fair Entry & the Pony Express: To enter your items in the 2024 Mountain State Fair, first go to the Mountain State Fair website to find registration information. You can enter your fair items through this free service by dropping off your non-perishable item(s) at the Swain County Cooperative Extension by Monday, August 26 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Your items will be picked up from the Extension Office on August 27. The Pony Express will transport your entries to the Mountain State Fair for judging and display. Items will then be returned to the Extension Office after the fair by September 27.
