We are excited to announce the Swain County Agricultural Fair’s 2nd Annual “Battle of the Bands,” a four-hour music contest at the Great Smoky Mountains Event Park. This is set to take place on Saturday, August 24th beginning at 11:30 a.m. The Battle of the Bands will feature six bands who are finalists competing for prize money.
Does your band have what it takes? We are currently accepting entries for the top 6 finalists to compete. The good news is there is not an entry fee to participate in this contest.

Contest Entry: Bands must submit an applicationto the Swain County Agricultural Fair on or before July 31, 2024. Please provide a link to a pre-recorded or live performance either on a social media account or website.
3 Band members and 1 roadie will receive complimentary tickets to Swain County Agricultural Fair on August 24, 2024.
Sound system is provided.
Top 3 bands will be awarded prize money First Place - $1,500 Second Place - $1,000 Third Place - $500
All bands must contain a minimum of three (3) members. However all members must sign that they have read and understand the registration entry form. If you have any questions, please clear them up with the coordinator prior to signing the form.
There will be a strict time limit of 20 minutes for each band to play.
Bands may bring one roadie to assist them with set-up and break-down and that person must also be listed on the registration form.
Band members and the roadie listed on the registration form will be admitted on stage.
All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
On the day of performance, band members must be dressed in clothing free from obscenities.
Band name and lyrics of performance songs should not contain any obscenities if possible. Judges can deduct points for any use of obscenities not necessary.
The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be under the influence of an illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified and the proper authorities will be notified.
All band members are required to be present at least 30 minutes prior to performance time to check in with the coordinator. If all band members are not present and ready to set up for performance 15 minutes before going on stage, the band will be disqualified.
All participants are required to be courteous and respectful toward other participating musicians.
The 1st Place Winning Band, must also commit to a live set at 6:00 p.m. on August 24. And will be showcased as the opening band for Catie Offerman!
